Watch Cattlemen to Cattlemen Week 9; Original Air Date: Tuesday, April 3, 2007

Hail to the Chief! In this week’s episode of NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen, you’ll get an initial look at President Bush’s visit to the NCBA Spring Legislative Conference.  Cattlemen to Cattlemen will have more details from the Spring Conference in next week’s episode, but the president’s visit was certainly a highlight to remember.

The spring calving season is drawing to a close. But what can you do to maximize your return on this year’s crop? Randy Blach, executive vice president of Cattle-Fax, stops by with some management tips for the cow-calf producer. Randy also introduces us to TRENDS – a new  Cattle-Fax publication created specifically for the cow-calf operator. Learn more about TRENDS at www.cattle-fax.com.

“Beef. It’s what’s for dinner.” is one of the most recognized advertisements in the nation. Learn more about how Sam Elliot became the voice behind this highly successful ad campaign.

At the Cattle Learning Center, veterinarians from USDA’s Meat Animal Research Center in Nebraska offer tips on the proper handling and administration of vaccines. Dr. Dee Griffin and Dr. Dale Grotelueschen show you how proper selection and handling of vaccines, syringes and other equipment can pay big herd health dividends. Learn more from animal health experts at the Meat Animal Research Center by visiting www.marc.usda.gov.

And Cattlemen to Cattlemen shows you how South Dakotans Bob and Nancy Montross earned BEEF Magazine’s Trailblazer Award for their tireless efforts to promote the beef industry through the innovative Beef Bucks program.

We need your photos!

Send us a digital photo at C2C@beef.org, and your family farm or ranch can be featured in the Legacy Photos segment of Cattlemen to Cattlemen. Don't forget to include your name and location, and any other information you want to share.

Here are a couple of fun ways your family can participate in upcoming special Legacy Photos segments:

Make Your Dog a Star!

April is National Pet Month, and there’s just nothing like a faithful farm or ranch dog. So send us a photo of your dogs – working cattle, playing with the kids, or just hangin’ out on the farm! Don’t forget your name, your dog’s name, and your location.

Be Part of Our Mother's Day Tribute!

How’s this for a unique gift for Mom on Mother’s Day? Seeing her photo on national television! We’re collecting photos of farm and ranch women with their children and families – the women who do so much to make American agriculture successful. So send us a photo featuring Mom, and your family can be part of the Cattlemen to Cattlemen Mother’s Day tribute!
