In this week’s program, James Link, head of USDA’s Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) discusses the recently-released report on alternative marketing arrangements for livestock. After examining transactions involving 58 million cattle between 2002 and 2005, the GIPSA report found that these arrangements offer many benefits for livestock producers, but have little impact on the cash market.
